The Above the Cloud collection features 12 looks of womenswear, each meticulously crafted with attention to detail. Rong Zhang employed digital printing techniques to create a checked pattern on silk satin dresses, adding a touch of modernity to the collection. Additionally, hand dyeing techniques were used to construct a gradient color effect on wool and cotton fabrics, adding depth and dimension to the garments.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was how to play with ordinary check patterns in a modern and playful way. Rong Zhang successfully overcame this challenge by incorporating oversized silhouettes and geometric textures, creating a unique and contemporary interpretation of the traditional pattern.
